Exceptional Skin Rejuvenation with Chemical Peels for Acne and Acne Scars.

One of the most effective methods for treating acne and acne scarring is chemical peels. Our chemical peels treatments are personalized offering remarkable results with minimal interruption to your lifestyle. expertly administered by our top-rated professionals for outstanding skin transformation.

The Process

Chemical peels gently removes the top layer of skin, accelerating cell turnover and revealing a fresh, vibrant layer beneath. The result? A visible reduction in unclogs pores, improves skin texture, reduces the appearance of acne, acne scars, smoother texture, and a revitalized, youthful glow that will have you looking as vibrant as you feel.

Acne Scars

The treatment of acne scars generally necessitates a series of sessions, tailored to the depth of the scar and the specific chemical peel used. Expected outcomes include a significant diminution of scars, a smoother skin texture and an added benefit of an even-toned complexion.

Chemical Peels: Which One?

Chemical peels come in various strengths – light (superficial), medium, and deep. The results and effects of each vary due to the depth of skin that they target.

The type of peel suitable for an individual will depend on their skin type, concerns, and goals, as well as their ability to tolerate the peeling and recovery process.

Deep Peels

Deep peels penetrate much further into the skin, targeting both the outer and middle layer of the skin (the dermis). They use stronger acids like phenol or trichloroacetic acid. These peels can dramatically reduce deep wrinkles, age spots, freckles, and moderate skin discoloration. They can also help with precancerous growths. Because they’re more intense, deep peels have a longer recovery time, and they can also result in more noticeable peeling and redness. The effects are much more dramatic and long-lasting.

Medium Peels

This peel removes skin cells from the epidermis and the upper part of the middle layer of skin (the dermis). It’s used to treat wrinkles, acne scars, and uneven skin tone. The most commonly used chemical is trichloroacetic acid (TCA), sometimes in combination with glycolic acid. The recovery period is longer than a light peel, often around 1-2 weeks, with significant swelling and redness.

Light Peels

Light or superficial peels use mild acids like alpha-hydroxy acid to gently exfoliate the skin. They primarily target the outermost layer of the skin (the epidermis). Light peels can brighten the skin and give it a fresher appearance, and they can also help with fine lines and acne. These peels have the shortest recovery time.

Types of Acne

Acne present in several forms and type and Each type of acne requires a different treatment approach and treatment plan, therefore a skin assessment and consultation is crucial for each treatment plan.

Whiteheads: Also known as closed comedones, these are small, round blemishes that are white or skin-colored. They are caused by hair follicles becoming clogged with sebum (oil) and dead skin cells.

Blackheads: Known as open comedones, these are similar to whiteheads but are open at the surface of the skin, which causes the sebum or oil to oxidize and turn black.

Papules: These are small, red, inflamed bumps on the skin. They are a form of inflammatory acne, which occurs when the walls surrounding the pores break down due to severe inflammation.

Pustules: These are larger, inflamed pimples filled with pus. They are typically red at the base with a white or yellow center.

Nodules: These are large, hard, painful lumps beneath the surface of the skin. Nodules form when clogged pores damage tissues and cells deep beneath the skin’s surface.

Cysts: These are large, soft, painful, pus-filled lumps beneath the skin that resemble boils. Like nodules, cysts form from severe damage to the skin tissue and are the most severe form of acne.

Acne Conglobata: This is a rare and severe form of acne that involves many inflamed nodules that are connected under the skin, leading to widespread scarring.

Acne Mechanica: This form of acne is triggered by excess heat, pressure, friction, or rubbing of the skin. It’s common in athletes and is often caused by sports equipment.

Acne Fulminans: A severe form of acne conglobata, which also presents with a fever and aching of the joints.

Types of Acne Scars

Acne scars come in several forms, each with its unique characteristics and each type of acne scar has different treatment options.

Ice Pick Scars: These scars are deep, very narrow, and extend into the dermis. The skin surface looks as if it has been pierced by an ice pick or sharp instrument, hence the name.

Boxcar Scars: These are round or oval depressions or craters in the skin. They’re wider than ice pick scars and can be shallow or deep. The skin inside these scars is often normal-appearing, but it is sharply demarcated at the edges.

Rolling Scars: These are caused by damage beneath the skin surface. They give the skin a wave-like appearance. They tend to be wide and shallow.

Hypertrophic or Keloid Scars: These are raised scars that sit above the surface of the skin. They’re caused by excessive collagen production during the healing process. Hypertrophic scars remain within the boundary of the original wound, while keloids grow beyond it.

Atrophic Scars: These are flat, thin, or depressed scars below the surrounding skin. They’re typically divided into ice pick scars, boxcar scars, and rolling scars, as mentioned above.

Hyperpigmentation or Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH): This is not a true scar but a temporary discoloration of the skin, usually brown, purple or red, following an acne breakout. While not considered a scar, it’s often classified with acne scars because it’s a common after-effect of acne.

Post-Inflammatory Erythema (PIE): This also isn’t a true scar. It’s more of a flat red or pink spot left after acne inflammation subsides. It’s more commonly seen in lighter skin types and can take a long time to fade naturally.

Chemical Peels: The Science of Age-Defying Skincare for Mature Complexions.

Chemical peels are scientifically proven to be beneficial for mature skin due to their ability to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, two critical proteins that maintain the skin’s firmness and elasticity. As we age, our skin naturally produces less of these proteins, leading to wrinkles and sagging. A high-quality chemical peel can invigorate this production process, leading to a smoother, firmer, and more youthful complexion.
