Advanced Hyperpigmentation Treatment, Which One?

Chemical Peels:

These involve the application of a chemical solution to the skin, causing it to “blister” and eventually peel off, revealing fresh, less pigmented skin beneath. The chemicals used also promote new skin growth. There are various types of peels ranging from superficial to deep peels, depending on the severity of hyperpigmentation.

This is a mechanical exfoliation procedure that gently removes the top layer of the skin. This process stimulates new skin growth and can help lighten areas of hyperpigmentation.

Also known as collagen induction therapy, microneedling creates tiny punctures in the skin using very fine needles. This triggers the body’s wound healing process, stimulating collagen and elastin production, and can help to break up pigment and reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation.

This is a more intense version of microdermabrasion that removes deeper layers of the skin and is often reserved for more severe cases of hyperpigmentation.

How We Treat Hyperpigmentation

Treatment options for hyperpigmentation vary depending on the cause and severity of the condition. Treatment can vary from medical grade topical substance, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser therapy, and intense pulsed light (IPL) treatments can also help improve hyperpigmentation. Once we evaluate your skin condition we can recommend the most suitable treatment approach for you.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL):

IPL therapy is similar to laser treatment, but it uses a broad spectrum of light wavelengths instead of a single wavelength like a laser. The light energy is converted into heat, which destroys the excess melanin.

Laser Therapy:

Laser therapy, such as fractional laser resurfacing, uses targeted beams of light to treat hyperpigmentation. The laser light is absorbed by the pigmented areas, which breaks up the melanin clusters and triggers the body’s natural healing process. The result is a more even skin tone once the skin has healed.

When treatments are meticulously tailored to your unique needs, and delivered with a blend of the finest quality and passionate care, the radiant results truly shine through.

What Does It Mean Hyperpigmentation?

Hyperpigmentation is a common skin condition characterized by the darkening or increased pigmentation of certain areas of the skin. It occurs when an excess amount of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color, is produced in certain areas. This can result in patches, spots, or areas of the skin appearing darker than the surrounding skin.

Who is More Sensitive to Hyperpigmentation?

Hyperpigmentation can affect individuals of any ethnicity, but it is more prevalent among individuals with darker skin tones due to their increased melanin production.

Sunspots, Melasma and PIH

These are dark spots that develop due to prolonged sun exposure. They commonly appear on areas of the skin that are frequently exposed to the sun. Another form of hyperpigmentation could be grayish-brown patches which are most likely melasma which is often associated with hormonal changes. PIH, Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation occurs as a result of inflammation or injury to the skin, such as acne, eczema, burns, or cuts. It leads to dark spots or patches in the affected area once the inflammation or injury has healed.

Hyperpigmentation can also be caused by certain medications, such as antimalarial drugs and some antibiotics, as well as underlying medical conditions.

Got 3 facials done here. My skin never felt better. I came in for my first facial and had pretty bad acne. The next week after the facial everything started to disappear. The facials were done really gently and calmly. It was amazing. Loved going there and definitely would go again. My skin is super clear now and this is without exaggerations. I never felt better.
